This course aims to give undergraduates a thorough understanding of          research methodology and prepares them for further advanced courses at the      graduate level.

Skills :

The course aims to provide students with the ability to properly identify the different types of research, formulate and evaluate research questions and hypotheses, and carefully choose the adequate sampling technique and data collection tools.

 

            Performance

            By the end of semester 6, students should be able to successfully plan, design, and carefully evaluate a research project.  

Objectives :

During this course students should:

    •         Work in a collaborative environment
    •         Learn about the nature of the research process
    •        Generate a research topic and understand the different sources that it can stem from.
    •         Differentiate between qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
    •         Analyse and identify research questions, hypotheses, sampling techniques, and data collection tools.   
    •         Be aware of the different ethical problems that can occur while conducting research.
